I get the bug to re-decorate ALL THE TIME... I think when you blog you have an even greater desire to change things...or is that just me? Anyway, when we first moved into our home it had huge 8ft marquee diamonds along the entry wall that extends all the way to our dining room...it had to go. With the help of some of our good friends we tackled the wall and painted it a deep chocolate brown color. I've loved the color but it made our dining room a sea of brown. We have a dark wood table, dark chocolate velvet curtains, and a large dark wood mirror. There was just too much BROWN.....BORING BROWN. So I was contemplating on whether or not to paint it to bring in some good ol fun color to the room.
This is where Emily A. Clark comes in and her one time design question. I sent her these pictures of my BLAH dining room ( a sea of brown..ugh!) and a few others of my home.
I asked her what I should do about bringing in some color to this room and for ideas to hang on either side of my big mirror. And let me tell you... it was like she was inside my brain figuring it all out for me...because this is exactly what I had invisioned but just had to have someone point me in the right direction.
This is what she came up with for my BLAH dining room:

A great fabric for curtains and some botanical prints to go on either side of the mirror. The best thing is that it was affordable. I've already ordered the fabric for my curtains and just picked up frames from Target....on sale. The botanical prints can be found here for FREE!
